Welcome to my weblog - a new medium for me!
I am constantly amazed at the new worlds the internet opens out to us. Blogs are yet another aspect of the world wide web to awe me, inspire me and confuse me in its uses, aspects and opportunities.
I now have an opportunity to publish what is virtually a self-absorbed, ego-centric magazine! I could include all sorts of articles that appeal to me and no one else! What ultimate control one could have over the media!
Alternatively, this could be a journey of discovery as I learn new things about this method of communication - a channel to share my life with friends who are geographically distant from me, whom I would love to be in touch with on a daily basis but where time and tides make this impossible.
This blog could also be a medium where I can share images that have moved me or that I have created, passages of prose or poetry that have inspired me (or that I have created) - subject to the laws of copyright!
I don't really know what this blog can do, should do - let's see where it takes us!
The first article I shall be posting in the next few days is about my high school reunion. Thirty years ago, my graduating class left the Singapore International School (United World College of South East Asia) in Singapore. Something about that time and place, the things we did, and the people who populated that period and acreage has always pulled us together. It's not quite nostalgia, not quite doctrine. Thirty years on, we are as diverse a group as we were then; our lives and careers taking as many turns and destinies as there are many of us, and yet we are still pulled together where the many years apart seem like yesterday.
The article is accompanied by an album of the reunion from my digital camera, which will be added to as other photos are developed from my oldie film camera, and if others send me their photos I shall (gradually) add them on.
Keep visiting this site - come in to visit regularly, keep an eye out for new reunion photos or new articles as I journey through and discover the capabilities of a blog!
Welcome.
